Three brothers turned a 900-square-foot bakery into a beloved market serving communities across the Twin Cities.

The three brothers behind Loma Bonita Market

Three brothers, one dream: a place where food, culture, and community come together.

Our journey began 20 years ago in Crystal, Minnesota, as Panadería Lomabonita—900 square feet built on long days, family support, and love for the flavors we grew up with. Two years later, we added a meat department and groceries, and Lomabonita Market was born, keeping the bakery name that started it all.

We've grown one store at a time, guided by the same values. Today, Lomabonita Market serves communities across the Twin Cities, with multiple locations and our largest market in Richfield. On opening day in Richfield, nearly 2,000 people showed up to welcome us.

Our markets offer fresh produce, international dairy and cheeses, beautifully decorated cakes, a full carnicería, deli, paletería, floral shop, piñatas, Mexican and U.S. candies, money transfer services, a Mexican restaurant, and—soon—fresh tortillas made in-house. Every detail is designed to give our customers foods and services that feel familiar, comforting, and like home.

Each of us brings our own strengths. One oversees produce and the bakery, another manages meats, deli, and the paletería, and the third focuses on customer service, floral, and money transfers. Together, we make sure every department reflects quality, care, and pride.

Our bakery remains at the heart of everything we do. From classic favorites to new creations inspired by our team's diverse backgrounds, our cakes are made fresh and decorated by hand daily. Many ideas come directly from our staff—family members and longtime friends who have grown with us and shaped what Lomabonita is today.

The Crystal location will always be special. We think of it as "the mother" of all our stores—the place that made everything possible. From there, we expanded to Savage, St. Paul, Columbia Heights, Monticello, and Richfield, each store built with patience, persistence, and belief in our vision.

Richfield represents years of dreaming and determination. After multiple attempts and setbacks, we were given the opportunity to bring Lomabonita to a space that had sat empty for years. Today, it's filled with life, families, and celebration.

We rely on family, loyal friendships, and faith to guide us. Many managers and team members have been with us for decades, and that trust and togetherness is at the core of who we are.

Lomabonita Market is more than a grocery store—it's a place to gather, celebrate, and stay connected to your roots. We're honored to serve our communities and excited for what's still to come.

Come visit us and experience the warmth of Lomabonita.
